I have already met one of my goals for 2025 by teaching classes in three different places. I taught beginner classes in Hanover and Gettysburg and an advanced class in Lancaster.
I love being able to bring improv to new places or expand the kinds of classes available in a place like Lancaster.
Now I get to do something new that I hadn't really considered when I made my goals. I will teach a class on the monoscene in Lancaster starting in June (it’s already sold out!), and this will mark the first time I have repeated an advanced class.
I first taught it two years ago, and that led to an opportunity to coach a monoscene team at the theater for a while. I don't know if I will have time to coach this time around, but I love continuing to bring these kinds of classes to the theater.
I think I like teaching form classes the most. Lancaster did not have any outside of the Herold before I taught the monoscene. I have also taught the movie form and the Pretty Flower.
Have you made it this far? Consider liking the post and maybe sharing it here on Substack or via social media. This will help me reach more readers. Thanks!
I would like to teach those again, and I would also love to have the opportunity to teach some of these with Highwire in Baltimore.
As we prepare to move into our space, we are looking at ways to expand our advanced offerings. I'm also happy to bring these classes or elements of them to other theaters or festivals.
I had only put down the goal to teach in three places, but it's really part of a larger goal to expand my teaching experience to as many places as possible.
